SKIN FRIENDLY, RECYCLABLE
What is our Jewellery made from?
All pieces from ithappensonlakemartin are made from 925 Sterling Silver. Sterling Silver is a high quality material in the Jewellery Industry. The remaining part usually consists of copper which is why it is referred to as 925 Sterling Silver. The copper adds strength to the piece to prevent the jewellery from bending or changing shape. You’ll notice your pieces will be stamped with “925” to show it is made with 9.25% pure silver.
Our Cuffs and Bangles and unisex range are also crafted from stainless steel, a recyclable material, making our jewellery environmentally friendly.
WATERPROOF, VERSATILE DESIGN
What makes our Jewellery Waterproof?
We offer Silver, Gold and Rose Gold plated Jewellery options for our customers. Our silver jewellery is plated with rhodium, a precious metal that is used on white gold jewellery. With this protective plating applied on the base of 925 Sterling silver and stainless steel, our jewellery is durable and can withstand water exposure.
AFFORDABLE, HYPOALLERGENIC
What makes our Jewellery stand out?
Our brand remains affordable, without compromising quality. Our jewellery plating is of the highest quality and our base is 925 sterling silver unlike other products in the market that are brass, gold vermeil or gold-filled.
Brass can cause skin discolouration or allergic reactions and is prone to tarnishing overtime. Gold vermeil is also not suitable for individuals with sensitive skin, although the plating acts as a barrier, individuals can still experience reactions or sensitivities to the underlying metals. Lastly, gold fill jewellery typically is made with a brass base, making it not hypoallergenic.
EASY CARE, FOR EVERYDAY
How to care for our Jewellery?
HOW DO I CLEAN MY JEWELLERY?
To clean your jewellery, simply polish it using our Polishing Cloth or a soft micro fibre cloth. We recommend polishing your jewellery after each wear. This will help prevent any build up of sweat and dirt. We also recommend storing your jewellery in a dry place to maintain its shine and appearance.
WHEN SHOULD I REMOVE MY JEWELLERY?
Remove jewellery when sleeping. Sleeping in your jewellery can cause tangles that put pressure on joins and links, which can cause accidental damage.
HOW TO I PROTECT THE PLATED SURFACE OF MY JEWELLERY?
Avoid impact with hard surfaces as this will protect against scratches and chipping. Try to prevent jewellery from rubbing against each other, banging onto countertops or rubbing against other hard objects.
WHAT SHOULD I AVOID MY JEWELLERY TO COME IN CONTACT WITH?
Do not spray perfume or other body sprays while wearing your jewellery. Be sure to leave your jewellery till last when getting dressed. This will ensure no products that contain chemicals may come into contact with your pieces. Wait for hand sanitiser, lotions and creams to dry before wearing your jewellery. Avoid harsh substances like oils, polishes, nail polish remover, and chlorine, as these chemicals may react with the metals in the jewellery.
